Moving the ground
that moves the nation

Taifa means nation. Since 1987 we have drilled, blasted, hauled and built for Tanzania's largest mines. The map shows the mines we have worked at, and Mbeya, where we began.

Who we are

We mine, build and restore. We haul ore to the mill and waste to the dump, build the roads, dams and airstrips a mine depends on, and return the land to green when the work is done.

01 · Mining and the nation

A tenth of Tanzania's economy
comes out of the ground

10.1%

of national GDP in 2024, a year ahead of the 10% target.

52.6%

of the goods Tanzania exported in 2025 were minerals, worth USD 5.4 billion.

TZS1.39tn

collected by the Ministry of Minerals in 2025/26, 16% above target.

The Mining (Local Content) Regulations require the industry to keep work, skills and spending in Tanzania. Taifa has worked that way since 1987.
